Industrial Controls Engineer

The industrial controls engineer will have knowledge of industrial, process, manufacturing, and field instrumentation, technology, and batch process manufacturing in all the following project phases:

  • Documentation requirements
  • Detail design generation
  • Implementation
  • Systems integration
  • Testing and on-site startup.

 

The Industrial Controls Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Design, develop and implement control systems (logic software and controls hardware) to meet machine and integrated system requirements.

Define commercial components needed to meet project needs, including acquiring quotes and lead time for critical items.

Design machine control systems using CAD software that allows for effective control system implementation for electrical and pneumatics.

Provide support during design, build and testing phase of the project.

Provide clear communication with the project manager on schedule and scope implications through the project lifecycle.

Lead the control debug activities to ensure the machine debug phase of the project is completed on schedule.

Assist with initial start-up and debug of integrated systems in house and at customer locations.

Draw out and document customer requirements that form the basis of the contractual scope of work.

 

Professional Experience:

Experience with programming PLC’s (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE Fanuc, Modicon).

Proficient in Design/Drafting Tools such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

Configuring and designing HMI/OIT systems (e.g. Allen Bradley, Cmore, Ignition).

Familiar with Industry Standards NFPA 79, UL and CE.

Familiar with various Motion Controllers & Robotics (ABB, Fanuc, Allen Bradley).

Experience in troubleshooting control system issues.

Self-starter that exhibits a high level of initiative and resourcefulness.

Willing to travel as necessary to support the business objectives (including International).

Excellent time management skills and problem solving with the ability to work independently from problem statement to solution.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable presenting technical information.

Willingness to take on and complete multiple project assignments quickly and efficiently.

Ability to learn independently to find best automation solutions.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

Controls, automation, SCADA, and instrumentation experience.

Familiar with Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Wonderware, and/or Ignition platforms.

Allen Bradley Automation certification a plus.

 

Other Requirements:

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and periodic, unannounced random drug tests

Must be able to crawl, climb, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.

Must be able to pass a fit for duty physical exam

Field Service Technician

Field Service Technician/Engineer (5 – 7 years of experience required)

NOTE:  This is not an entry level position.  Only candidates who meet the minimum requirements will be considered for the position.

Reside in Arizona; work and travel throughout the Southwest

Essential Duties/Job Functions:

Troubleshoot and repair existing systems, Install new systems, install upgrades and retrofits, and do startup and debugs at customer sites in North America.

  • Perform all PLC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and integration.
  • Troubleshoot and modify PLC and HMI programs (Allen Bradley and Rockwell software experience are mandatory) other platforms like Siemens would be a bonus.
  • Troubleshoot VFD’s, servo and motor controls.
  • Analyze, evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical based equipment and application problems independently.
  • Conduct product-specific system familiarization training onsite for end users.
  • Provide aid, support and training to our customers in a professional manner.
  • Perform equipment inspections and onsite system audits.
  • Provide detailed timely follow-ups with customers and KAC management team.
  • Read schematics, electrical drawings, system diagrams, and ability to use electronic media.
  • Provide trip reports, weekly expense reports and employee timesheets on a timely basis.
  • The majority of the work day will be spent on customer field assignments with up to 10% required travel.
  • Miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful applicants will have a technical degree, military experience, or certified trade training with a minimum of at least five years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of: computer-based systems, electro-mechanical equipment, vision inspection equipment and PLC control systems.
  • Current or recent field service experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have the ability to use PLC logic to troubleshoot machines.
  • Must be proficient in the Allen Bradley Rockwell software PLC and HMI platforms.
  • Must be technologically savvy, innovative, quick to learn and adapt to new technology.
  • Computer skills: high degree of competency with Windows XP, Windows 7, OS Navigation. MS Office products, hardware/software, and network troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Must possess excellent demonstrated written communication skills with the ability to document detailed audits and reports.
  • Must have a positive, professional, and customer focused attitude at all times.
  • Must possess excellent oral communication skills with the ability to break down complex subjects in simple and understandable terms.
  • Must be detail-oriented, well organized and self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess exceptional time management skills with the ability to complete assigned projects independently.
  • Must be experienced at planning and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Thorough and concise follow-up skills are an essential responsibility and expectation of this job.
  • Must be flexible and open to a fluid schedule and working environment.

Sales Engineer

JOB PURPOSE:       

 

The industrial sales position is responsible for maintaining and growing Kredit Automation & Controls’ revenues through the sale of all the currently defined products and services.  The customers / prospects are identified from the current list of existing customers, as well as creating a list of potential customers based on a specific targeted vertical market or industry.

SCOPE of JOB:        

The industrial sales position will be able to identify, secure and maintain revenue streams from new and existing clients.  The job requirements entail completing the necessary sales metrics of cold calling, face-to-face sales calls, strategic account plans and proposals on a monthly basis.  The industrial sales position will provide consultative sales and support to customers and prospects.  The results of this market approach will yield continued revenue streams as well as incremental growth for Kredit Automation & Controls.  The industrial sales position must be able to interact with the Project Manager, Service Manager, Engineers and Executive Management to ensure total customer satisfaction.

This role’s success is measured by the achievement of all sales metrics on a continual basis, driving enough activity to achieve a targeted revenue quota for a 12-month period.  This position is completely responsible for maintaining current revenues and bringing in new business to the organization.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Developing and driving an account strategy plan – engaging customers at a strategic “business” level
  • Identifying customer needs, develop value enhancing solutions and consulting on alternatives with clients
  • Prospecting within all divisions of defined accounts for new business
  • Mapping all divisions and key decision makers in an account
  • Achieving assigned sales targets within the annual timeframe
  • Proposal writing, financial justifications, closing the sale, follow up and account maintenance
  • Leading the immediate sales team in developing new solutions and applications for customers
  • Internal teamwork to achieve complete customer satisfaction
  • Total ownership of account plan and communicating to Kredit Automation & Controls management on the strategy needed to be successful in account. Responsible for developing growth plan and managing its implementation.

Essential Job Results:

50%     New customer development, sale of new applications into current accounts, and interaction with new and existing accounts (includes travel to customer sites)

25%     Proposal writing, presentations developed.

15%     Current account maintenance – working with Project Manager, Service Manager, Engineers and Executive Management.

10%     Internal training, meetings, administrative requirements.

Qualifications:

The candidate must have three to five+ years of experience in a sales position with a successful demonstration of achieving sales quotas and experience in solutions-oriented application selling

Significant manufacturing industry experience is required. Automation & Controls experience a plus.

Control Panel Technician

Description of Overall Accountability:

The Control Panel Technician position’s responsibilities include building and assembling electrical components, equipment and control panels.   This position requires building electrical control panels per UL 508A and electrical prints, making and applying wire labels and panel labels.

 

List of Major Responsibilities:

  1. Assemble electrical enclosures in accordance with UL508A standards.
  2. Make and apply labels/marking for enclosures as well as components on skids
  3. Wire motors and various instrumentation
  4. Perform control panel testing
  5. Provide back-up for shipping/receiving
  6. Maintain shop cleanliness

Qualifications Necessary to Perform Responsibilities:

  4. Able to read and understand Electrical diagrams and schematics, P&ID and GA
